Profile
Roman Shaposhnik is a VP of Technology for ODPi at Linux Foundation and a Member of Apache Software Foundation. He started his career at Sun microsystems and after that was lucky enough to join big data revolution first at Yahoo! Inc. and later at Cloudera. At around the same time he joined Apache Software Foundation where he spends most of his time these days hacking on Apache Hadoop ecosystem projects.
Roman is a veteran of open source, committer on Apache Hadoop, co-creator of Apache Bigtop and a former VP of Apache Incubator. He can be seen on Twitter as @rhatr or on the bookshelves as a co-author of “Practical Graph Analytics with Apache Giraph”. His latest passion is smashing Hadoop enterprise adoption barriers by using the power of open source, community driven standardization.
