Profile
David Weisman has nearly four decades of achievement in computer science and information technology. He began as a compiler designer, and ran a success IT consulting firm for 25 years that focused on distributed system development, as well as financial services and quantitative finance. From 2005-2011, David pursued and obtained a Ph.D. in molecular biology, focusing his research at the intersection of big data mining, applied mathematics, and biology.
Now he is consulting in data science, predictive, and prescriptive analytics in the commercial sector, and is a researcher at University of Massachusetts Boston. His current consulting includes text and social media data mining, churn prediction, technology strategy, and enterprise-level planning for predictive analytics. His clients include technology vendors, data mining platform providers, financial service firms, consumer goods manufacturers, and biotechnology companies.
