About Scott Amyx
Scott Amyx is the founder & CEO of Amyx+McKinsey, a wearables & IoT strategy + execution agency specializing in wearables & IoT strategy and implementation. As a thought leader in wearables and the Internet of Things, Scott explores the intersection of enterprise implications and consumer decisions of adopting wearables and IoT technologies. He writes for Wired, InformationWeek, IEEE Consumer Electronics Magazine, IEEE Technology and Society Magazine, Wearable Technologies Magazine, IOT Journal, TechBeacon, Examiner and speaks at global conferences on wearables & Internet of Things strategy and innovation. Scott is a member of the AllSense Alliance, a global open source IoT consortium. Scott is also the Managing Partner of a global network of IoT accelerators and seed VC funds. Scott is the co-author of The Internet of Things and Cyber-Physical Systems Handbook, an academic publication by John Wiley and Sons, scheduled for late 2015.
Scott has over 18 years of large-scale strategy and implementation experience, managing double digit million dollar projects across multiple verticals. In his last corporate position as VP of Product Management, Scott helped the company be acquired by a Fortune 500 publicly traded company. Scott has also started numerous startups and successfully sold a company.
Scott has a master’s degree in applied microeconomics/ public policy from the University of Chicago. Scott was a national Woodrow Wilson/ Sloan fellow at Carnegie Mellon University and he completed his strategy & entrepreneurial certificate from UCLA.
