Abstract

Recently there have been significant advances in autonomous driving technologies and machine learning. Multiple entities are working on development of self-driving cars in order to automate the future of transportation. This presentation will discuss how machine learning is contributing to the revolution in autonomous vehicles in the areas ranging from perception to planning.

Profile

Dr. Teymur Sadikhov is a Senior Vehicle Intelligence Engineer at the Mercedes-Benz R&D, where he is working on control, trajectory planning and decision making for autonomous cars. Previously, he worked on localization and multi-vehicle path planning for autonomous ground vehicles at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He also worked on trajectory planning for autonomous helicopters at the United Technologies Research Center. Originally from Baku, Azerbaijan, Teymur received BS in aeronautical engineering from Istanbul Technical University and MS in mechanical engineering from UC San Diego. He earned his MS in mathematics and PhD in aerospace engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
