Topic

Cyber security in open connected systems

Abstract

As one of the disruptive forces of the fourth industrial revolution, the Internet of Things is promising us more data than we've ever known to handle. Wast amounts of data is perhaps nothing new, in the oil and gas industry we've dealt with this information gluttony for the past decade if not more. The new and challenging aspect comes when this is all connected over the Internet. Past security failures have shown that the industry still has a way to go, and with new regulations such as the EU privacy regulations around the corner securing the Internet of Things becomes a core challenge for many of us. In this session I take a look at IoT security and what it takes to create a secure IoT infrastructure.
