MongoDB speed, scale, and durability workshop

Abstract

MongoDB is an open-source, document-oriented, NoSQL database that is fast becoming to go-to choice for many organizations. MongoDB is cunningly easy to set up and gives developers a great document model that is both easy and productive. But there's no free lunch: Running MongoDB efficiently and safely requires some knowledge and experience. This workshop will arm you with some of both. We will be learning and applying key MongoDB concepts and scenarios such as •Document manipulation: creating, querying, and modifying. •Indexing and performance tuning •Creating replica sets, and understanding automatic fail-over scenarios •Creating sharded cluster and scaling out MongoDB for high performance The workshop includes presentations and hands-on labs. Attendees should be comfortable with general database and/or development concepts. Attendees can expect to walk away understanding MongoDB clusters, how to set them up and performance tuning.
