IoT and Healthcare – Designing a New System to Predict Adverse Reactions

Abstract

What better challenge is there in the world of big data and AI than to unlock its power to find ways to improve the health and quality of life of individuals around the world – by providing highly personalized medicine? Every minute of every day, growing quantities of individual patient, wearable device, disease, and drug data are generated and archived in a growing number of databases. Those databases represent both the possibility and the problem for bringing better healthcare options to the marketplace. Yet, the solutions we seek are hidden in the data, currently housed in unconnected databases. To date, there has been little progress in cohesively collecting, analyzing and presenting these isolated sources in a way that can help in the delivery of relevant personalized medicine. During this session, Ravi Srivatsav, SVP, Chief Business Development Officer for NTT Innovation Institute Inc. (NTTi3), will share a way to make this vision a reality through new ways of quickly collecting and analyzing diverse sources of demographic, medicine, disease and adverse reaction data – and turn it into the information that powers personalized medicine.
