Angel Mercedes is a sales management professional with 19 years of wireless sales experience initiating, developing, and managing sales relationships with customers, distributors, and manufacturer representatives. He is currently Manager, Services Sales North America, AirVantage IoT Platform for Sierra Wireless. Prior to joining Sierra Wireless, Mercedes held management positions with some of the most respected companies in the M2M/IoT and wireless communication industry: Sr. Manager M2M/IoT Business Development for T-Mobile USA, Head of Telematics for Telenor Connexion, M2M Business Development Manager for Arrow Electronics, and Director of Sales for Ericsson Inc. He also served as Sr. Technical Services Manager for Brother International Corporation and as RF Design Engineer for several engineering firms. Mercedes has a strong reputation and has been recognized for his expertise in the M2M/IoT industry. He has been invited speaker at many M2M/IoT related conferences and trade shows. Also has been interviewed by many wireless industry related publications and M2M/IoT industry analysts. The Hispanic IT Executive Council (HITEC) named Mercedes as one of the 2014 HITEC 100, an award that is given to the top 100 most influential and notable Hispanic Professionals in the Information Technology Industry. Mercedes earned an M.B.A. in Business Administration and International Business from Florida Atlantic University and a B.S. in Electromechanical Engineering from Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo.
