How to Set the AI Innovation Speed Limit

Abstract

Every AI company faces the innovation paradox. Slow innovation lets competitors surge ahead. Fast innovation risks error and liability. Last year, we witnessed the paradox when OpenAI initially fired its CEO because he wanted to move too fast, and then reversed course and fired the engineers who wanted to slow down. Not every company is OpenAI, but every AI company faces the innovation dilemma. This talk summarizes possible responses, and illustrates with a use case from the Canadian company Telus. Delegates will learn to build a framework to respond effectively to the innovation paradox in their own companies.
